Sorry I hadn't seen this years ago, but I have seen Tom's bike up close a few times over the decades, and it is one magnificently preserved piece of racing history. Glad he and this machine are getting some recognition.

This bike has a cool and unusual shifter. The left handlegrip turned like an English bicycle and connected to linkage that went straight down in front of the tank then connected to another to the lever on the trans....I looked at a 58 yesterday that had an auxiliary (road or trail) transmission and nobby tire.

Nice Video thanks A few side notes: Apply a thin coat of grease to the axle sliding surface before install. The Brake Caliber Bolt should to be replace with a new one if removed. Replace the 2 exhaust pipe gaskets, torque to 17 ft-lbs with flange marks in the up position.

Is it sure that this engine was made before 1955? Because the airpipes to the carburetures are positioned directly into the air filter housing. I was learned that this was made after 1955,
